National Life has been around for quite some time. Founded back in 1848, they have been going strong, as they state, in helping their clients and other members get the coverage that they need. With insurance policies ranging from life insurance to general home and employer coverage, they have a wide array of balances that they can use to get you the best policy that you want for your buck. Or, at least, that is what they state.
Unfortunately, every company has issues that members have to go through. Their prices are quite fair, but they tend to deny quite a few claims as well. This is because they have strict guidelines and clauses that must be followed. This is especially true when dealing with employer coverages for employees. When working through an employer, many employees may not ever end up actually talking with the insurance company that their life insurance is through. This can be extremely dangerous, as information that is given to the employer may never reach the employee’s ears. For instance, if the company employer’s policy states that the policy changes if the employee goes from an active worker to a retiree, but that information is not relayed to the employee, this can be room for a denial.
Not only that, many insurance companies have specific exclusions when it comes to the cause of death. For instance, one big one is suicidal exclusions. This means that, if the death was due to one taking their own life, they will not have to payout to the beneficiaries. National Life will generally have an exclusion clause for drugs and alcohol as well, meaning that the cause of death is an extremely important part of the claims process.
As such, it is important that, if you are the policyholder, to work with a private, experienced life insurance attorney. When setting up the policy, have the attorney look it over and make sure that you are safe from any loopholes or traps that can ruin your policy in the long run.
If you are a beneficiary and are facing a denial, contact a life insurance attorney to see if you have a possible case. If they deny your claim due to cause of death, there will generally be a high chance that you can battle against it with the right help. As such, find an attorney that is not affiliated to any of the parties, so that you know that they work for you, and only for you.
If your National life insurance claim was denied, our life insurance lawyers will fight hard to get you the full amount of the policy.
